STILLWATER, Minn. – July 22, 2024 – Stillwater Area Public Schools announces the hiring of Bill Gronseth as the district’s newest principal, pending school board approval. Gronseth will support students, staff and families at Lily Lake Elementary School beginning in August.

“We’re fortunate to have such an experienced and knowledgeable educator join our Lily Lake community,” said Caitlyn Willis, executive director of elementary education. “His vision and leadership will help us continue the great work underway at Lily and across the district.”

Gronseth joins Stillwater Area schools after serving as the superintendent of Saint Peter Public Schools for the last four years. He spent much of his career with Duluth Public Schools where he worked as a teacher, high school assistant principal, and elementary principal. He went on to lead Duluth Public Schools for 10 years as an assistant superintendent and superintendent.

Gronseth graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with an elementary education degree and added a masters degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He holds his K-12 administrative license and superintendent license from St. Mary’s University.
